Description

These valves are used to control the water level in tanks; as the water level rises and as a result the float of the valve control circuit rises, force is applied to the pilot and ultimately it closes, followed by an increase in pressure above the diaphragm and the movement of the diaphragm and disc assembly downwards, closing the valve outlet. Conversely, as the water level in the tanks drops and as a result the float of the valve control circuit drops and the force is removed from the pilot and ultimately it opens, the pressure inside the diaphragm chamber also decreases and the valve opens its outlet section.

General Function: The float valve automatically controls the liquid level in a tank using a float and pilot. As the fluid level increases or decreases, the valve opens or closes as needed, maintaining the level at a specified value.

  1. When transporting and emptying the valve, avoid hitting the body or its components.
  2. If the paint coating is damaged, you will need to repair it.
  3. Strictly avoid burying valve in the ground.
  4. Be sure to observe the flow direction indicated on the body.
  5. Prevent mechanical stresses from entering the valve body through the pipe.
  6. Allow sufficient space for repairs and adjustments around the valve.
  7. It is recommended to use two on/off valves on each side, along with a filter and air valve before the main valve.
  8. Before operation, the pipeline must be completely flushed and drained to prevent waste materials from entering the system.
  9. The float valve is best installed outside the tank, above the water level, and horizontally. It is usually connected to a 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch pipe.
  10. The gas valves on the body must be fully open.
  11. The needle valve mounted on the body should always be open at least three turns. Closing it completely will cause malfunction.
  12. Slowly open the upstream valve first and then the downstream valve.

Float valve service and maintenance guide

For optimal performance and to prevent breakdowns, it is recommended to perform the following actions every 6 months:

  1. Check the health of the float and its connections for leaks or blockages.
  2. Clean the valve inlet filter and ensure the needle valve is open.
  3. Checking the pilot's performance and ensuring that internal routes are not clogged.
  4. If you notice fluctuations in the tank level, adjust the needle valve as instructed (at least three turns open).
  5. Avoid sudden opening and closing of adjacent shut-off and connection valves to avoid impacting the float valve.

Annual inspection (every two years)

  • Opening the valve assembly, inspecting and thoroughly cleaning the internal parts (including the diaphragm, seat, and float).
  • Replace gaskets and sealing O-rings if they are dry or cracked.
  • Check the health of the pilot springs and moving parts and replace them if necessary.
  • After servicing, reinstall the valve according to the installation instructions and test its operation by changing the tank level.
