Y-shaped strainer installation and maintenance instructions

  1. Before taking any action, make sure there is no pressure in the system and remove the cover flange plate (if any)
  2. Thoroughly clean the inside of the pipe and strainer with appropriate solvents.
  3. Install the filter exactly in line with the flow indicator arrow on the body.
  4. For steam fluid lines, installation must be done in a way that prevents water from accumulating in the strainer.
  5. Avoid exposing the filter to mechanical stress (such as twisting, bending, and heavy loads).
  6. In lines prone to cavitation or water hammer, be sure to install the strainer horizontally.
  7. The storage area should be dry, dust-free, and at a stable temperature. Avoid contact with corrosive chemicals or direct sunlight.
  8. For long-term storage, use moisture-proof covers and wooden pallets.
  9. When transporting, use a forklift with appropriate capacity or an industrial hand truck.
  10. Allow at least 50 centimeters of free space around the filter for access for maintenance and inspection.

Service, Operation and Repair Guide

For safe and optimal filter performance, it is recommended that the following points be carefully observed:

  1. Before starting up, flush the entire system to ensure that there are no debris.
  2. Compare the operating pressure and temperature with the technical specifications listed on the filter nameplate.
  3. Never open the filter cover under pressure while working. The mesh may reach temperatures above 60°C; wait until the assembly has cooled completely before carrying out any repairs.
  4. Any repair and opening of the filter is only permitted under conditions of zero pressure and ambient temperature.
  5. If you notice leaks, abnormal pressure drop, or irregular operation, have the filter checked by a technician.

Periodic inspection

  • Regularly (every 6 months) inspect the filter body for cracks, corrosion, or deformation.
  • If you notice any damage or advanced corrosion, replace the filter immediately.
  • During annual inspections, remove, clean, and inspect the inner screen; replace the screen if necessary.
  • Make sure the flange bolts and fasteners are tight and tighten them crosswise with the appropriate torque if necessary.
