Flow control valves can be used to limit flow rate and maintain constant flow rate depending on changes in pressure or consumption.

Description

These valves should open and be regulated by the valve as the pressure in the flow line increases. If the pressure in the line decreases, the valve automatically closes, causing the pressure above the diaphragm to increase. As a result, the output flow rate remains constant.

Flow control valve installation and maintenance instructions

  1. When carrying, moving, and installing the device, be careful to prevent impact to its components.
  2. Never use flange holes or control circuit components to lift the valve. Use only approved tools such as lifting jigs.
  3. Valves that have been stored in storage for more than two years should be tested and inspected before installation.
  4. Avoid exposing valve to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
  5. Valve should not be buried directly in the ground.
  6. The valve installation location must be free of dust and the flanges must be thoroughly cleaned to increase the useful life of the equipment.
  7. When installing the valve horizontally, the flow direction and installation position must be in accordance with the specified specifications.
  8. Before starting, make sure that the inside of the pipes is completely clean and free of foreign objects.
  9. To protect the valve from environmental factors such as sun and frost, use a suitable canopy or cover.
  10. The space around the valve must be sufficient for possible repairs and maneuvering operations.
  11. When installing, a minimum distance of 20 mm must be maintained between the two flanges and the front surfaces must be undamaged.
  12. When installing the valve, the flanged pipes must be positioned so that they are completely aligned and parallel to each other to prevent stress and damage to the valve body.
  13. A suitable strainer should be installed at the valve inlet, and a shut-off valve should be used at the outlet to allow for easy separation when necessary.
  14. The connecting bolts should be tightened evenly and crosswise to ensure balanced pressure.
  15. Before operation, the pipes must be thoroughly flushed and free of any foreign objects to ensure proper system operation.

Flow control valve service and maintenance guide

For optimal valve performance, it is recommended to perform the following actions every 6 to 12 months:

  1. Checking and cleaning the strainer and control circuit in the piping system.
  2. Valve air venting to prevent vacuum and malfunction.
  3. Valves that have been in storage for more than two years should be re-inspected and tested before installation.
  4. During testing, the valve pipe must be fully open to prevent pressure from entering the system. A blind flange should be used for this purpose.
  5. Avoid opening and closing the valve suddenly, as this can cause severe shock to the system. Instead, open and close the valve gradually.
  6. Inspect to ensure that the connections are closed and the valve is not leaking.

Annual inspection (every four years)

  • All valve parts should be disassembled and cleaned.
  • Replace the main sealing rubber.
  • Check the pilot diaphragm and sealing rubber and replace if necessary.
